Once you get to college there are so many different little things to worry about that a credit score can seem like a very far-off problem. But in reality, your credit score actually determines a lot about your future and it's smart to start planning ahead. You'll appreciate your decision to start early once you're out of college and looking for an apartment or a job.

Remember, your length of credit history is a significant factor that is calculated into your credit score. Building or rebuilding credit takes time, and the longer your positive credit history, the better. So it’s best to start sooner rather than later.
